If Chirinjeev Singh Kathuria gets the Illinois Republican nomination for the US Senate then will it be an indication of the decline of your father's GOP? Will we then see the emergence of the Republican wing of the Republican party waging a grassroots battle to take back the party from those who sold it out to multi-culturalism?

So many burning questions! Something tells me however that everything is going to be just fine and that something is the following from this week's Economist:

Grover Norquist, a Republican anti-tax campaigner with influential friends in the White House, claims that Indian-Americans are natural Republicans and natural conservatives. They are on the whole well-educated and well-to-do; they respect family values, and like working for themselves.

That was a relief...until the same story turned pessimistic:

The fortune (that Mr. Kathuria) built in business, while impressive, makes him just another millionaire Republican. A lot of people, if they mention him at all, stumble over his name. And Illinois includes not only the ethnic smorgasbord of Chicago but also a lot of farmers who wouldn't know a Sikh if he landed in their cornfields.

Just another millionaire Republican? C'mon! He wears a turban, doesn't he? Savvy Republicans like Karl Rove would know the importance of diversity in the effective representation of our millionaires, this country's model minority.

Yeah...that's it! No need to worry, it's all very heartwarming.
