Aldon Hynes' post on greaterDemocracy.org has the scoop on the recently leaked secret British intelligence memo, dated July 23, 2002, revealing Tony Blair's knowledge of the "inevitability" of US military action against Iraq because...

Bush wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy. The NSC had no patience with the UN route, and no enthusiasm for publishing material on the Iraqi regime's record. There was little discussion in Washington of the aftermath after military action.

Some 88 US Representatives have so far signed a letter asking President Bush whether his Administration disputes the accuracy of the memo, and four other questions about the timing of the decision and arrangements to invade Iraq, and the "fixing" of the intelligence supporting the purported reasons for the invasion.

Now, if I agree that it's good to have a brutal dictator out of power, then would a Bush supporter concede that the above smacks of deception of the American - and (some would say less important) non-American - people? If so, then...like...shouldn't we have an honest investigation of this? No, I'm just saying...you know...that being a patriotic conservative really shouldn't mean letting your favorite Administration send our soldiers to kill/maim and be killed/maimed for cooked-up reasons.

Anyways, should you want to do more than kvetch or rant then call your Representative  to tell him/her that you want them to sign the letter (PDF), if they haven't, or...that you don't want them to even touch that letter because your Administration is above the law and can lie to you if it deems it necessary.
